Lord Powell, 74, previously served as Private Secretary and advisor on foreign affairs and defense to British Prime Ministers Margaret Thatcher and John Major from 1983 to 1991. He is a director of LVMH Moët Hennessy-Louis Vuitton (since 1996), Mandarin Oriental International Limited (since 1992), and Hong Kong Land Holdings Limited (since 2008) and was a director of Yell Group (from 2002-2009), of Caterpillar Inc. (from 2001 through 2013) and of Schindler Holding Ltd. (from 2003 through 2014). In January 2015, Lord Powell became an Advisory Director of Northern Trust Corp.
